Kim Tierney

Research Manager

Kim Tierney has worked in a variety of positions over the years promoting public health both domestically and internationally. Kim holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina Asheville where she double majored in French and International Studies and minored in Africana Studies. She most recently worked as a Program Associate for the International Trachoma Initiative, a program of the Task Force for Global Health. During her time there, she supported the program team through their yearly cycle of country applications, facilitated the distribution and receipt of trachoma monitoring forms in collaboration with the WHO, and helped with meeting support for the Trachoma Expert Committee meetings, as well as regional cross-border meetings in sub-Saharan Africa.

Among other jobs, she has previously worked as a nutrition and culinary instructor for both children and adults with a non-profit that provides increased access to healthy, fresh food; taught yoga and provided communications support for a non-profit yoga studio that offers entirely donation classes; and served as a Communications Manager and French translator for a machinery company operating primarily in Guinea.

When she’s not working, Kim enjoys spending time outside hiking and backpacking, cooking and baking for loved ones, dancing, practicing yoga, and hanging out with her two cats, Sebastian and Linguine.
